Apply once or twice daily to cleansed, toned skin. Spread a thin layer over areas where discolorations and breakouts are a concern. During the day, follow with sunscreen spf 30+ (essential to prevent discolorations from recurring). At night, follow with a moisturizer.
Sunburn Alert: When using hydroquinone, it is imperative to stay out of the sun as much as possible in order for the treatment to work. Exposure to sun deteriorates the HQ and renders it ineffective. Always wear a full-spectrum sunblock, and if you must go outside, be sure to wear a hat and protective clothing if necessary to avoid getting sunburned. This is very important, because your skin is slowly peeling and exposing new lighter skin to the surface. If this new skin gets sunburned or is not protected well from the sun, it can compromise your results and actually make it easier for your skin to tan since it is very sensitive. For thicker areas of the body be sure to exfoliate with a sugar scrub 2-3 times a week. This helps improve product absorption since you are removing thick dead skin that sometimes makes it hard for your skin to absorb a product.
